Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Comedian Charley Chase plays a New York lawyer who heads for Kentucky when his wife (Constance Bergen) discovers that he comes from one of the best families in the state. By whose criteria is not explained, because when they land in the remote hamlet of Chaseville, they are faced with a group of relatives that make rural Appalachians look intellectual. But the folks are as hospitable as they are backwards and they clear the geese and dogs (but not the pig) out of the guest room and make their Northern relations at home. Charley's presence turns out to be useful -- he defends "Pappy" Chase (played by Charley in gray wig and whiskers) in a nuisance suit. But all ends well and the townsfolk are treated to eccentric dances from both Pappy and Charley.
