S.O.S. Catastrophe: Spirit of Survival - Dam Break and Coal Mine Cave-In presents two catastrophes of 1963. The first, the Baldwin Hills dam break, took place on December 4th, 1963. The break caused a 50-foot-high wave to sweep through the streets Los Angeles. Residents were caught completely off guard and several people were killed. The second catastrophe was the monstrous cave-in of an Oneida coal mine in Pennsylvania, which took place on August 13th, 1963. This accident left only two survivors. This video portrays the great spirit of survival and humanity that prevailed during the two horrendous accidents.
