Synopsis by Alice Day
Many changes in attitudes toward women have occurred since the '50s, when opportunities were limited. In Some Spirit in Me, their changing roles in the '60s and '70s brought more women into the workplace, where they encountered degrees of improvement in the treatment of their gender. This program features several women who were not activists, but who received positive and, occasionally, negative impact from the women's movement. They include an African-American editor at a high-profile financial magazine, a Jewish housewife, and a Hispanic social worker.
