Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This likable little comedy drama didn't have the tear-jerking qualities of 1920's popular Humoresque but it involved the same type of characters, who live in New York's Lower East Side. The husband, Izzy Solomon (William H. Strauss), is a humble dressmaker who has ambitions to open a shop on Fifth Avenue. He helps a poor laundress, Mary Bell (Nancy Deaver), by giving her a new outfit to wear while she is job hunting. Mary is discovered by a motion picture company and her dress is discovered by a buyer. As a result, both the girl and Solomon realize their dreams. But while Mary finds both stardom and romance with a young lawyer, success isn't so sweet for the dressmaker. His wife Rosie (Brenda Moore) naively falls for a temperamental pianist and the couple agrees to get a divorce. Mary and her lawyer sweetheart help the Solomons to reconcile for a happy ending.
