Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Originally produced for British TV, Jean-Luc Godard's Soft and Hard costars Godard and his longtime collaborator Anne-Marie Mieville. In an experimental, free-form manner, Godard sets about to show how the average public has been affected by the Media, and vice-versa. Godard and Mieville play a couple whose every movement is dictated by what they see on television. At least, that's what seems to be happening; Godard shifts creative gears more often than a 5-year-old reciting a poem. Since it was lensed on videotape, the 48-minute Soft and Hard has yet to receive a theatrical release.
