Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

This interesting World War II documentary by Perry Wolff was intended, on its release, to be double-booked with another Wolf documentary (Kamikaze, 1961) that looks at the war in the Pacific. Wolf uses archival footage and other sources to focus his attention on the air war over Europe -- although he does not neglect major European wartime scenes like the meeting of Russian and American troops at the Elbe River, or the liberation of the prisoners in the concentration camps. A concise narration provides the necessary information on the unfolding scenes of the war and, together with the images, makes for an educational documentary.
