It delves into cultural complexities and the unique synergy generated from the region's rich past and dynamic present. Volume five, Rich, Clever, Homeless, examines the strange destiny of overseas Chinese. Unable to return to their native land, communist China, they are left to forge a life out of their unique dynamism and shrewd business acumen. Also explored are the inequalities Malaysian Chinese experience.
