Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

A graduate from N.Y.U. and the School of Visual Arts, Yoshifumi Hosoya directs this cross-cultural comedy about a trio of Japanese slackers slumming it in the Big Apple. Hiroshi (Eugene Nomura), a struggling singer-songwriter, comes to New York to make it big. He soon finds himself living with two other Japanese guys -- Kenta (Toshiya Nagasawa), a cheapskate karate teacher, and Akira (Takahiro "Engin" Fujita), a dreadlocked junkie. While Hiroshi manages to pay the bills by working as a delivery boy for a Japanese restaurant, Kenta spends most of the time hitting on Hiroshi's boss, who gives him free food. On the day that Hiroshi manages to land a date with a beautiful airline executive (Sayuri Higuchi Emerson), calamity strikes -- Akira is found dead on the toilet. Since reporting the incident to the police would probably result in deportment, they do what any right-thinking person might: stuff the body in a golf bag and dump it off the Brooklyn Bridge. Will Hiroshi get to his date on time?
