Serbian filmmaker Milos Petricic makes his feature film directorial debut with the romantic comedy An Almost Ordinary Story. Set in Belgrade, the film follows the romantic pairing of Irena (Milica Zaric) and Vlada (Vuk Toskovic). They fall in love at first sight when they meet up during a rainstorm. Three years later, Vlada's ex-girlfriend Maria (Boba Latinovic) arrives in town to mess things up. Meanwhile, Vlada's friend Bane (Stefan Kapicic) and Irena's friend Anja (Hristina Popovic) offer their humorous side commentary. The soundtrack includes songs by Yo La Tengo, Parliament, and Depeche Mode. An Almost Ordinary Story was shown as part of the East of the West program at the 2003 Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
