Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The title of this Welsh-language game show translates roughly to Husband and Wife or Mr. and Mrs. Debuting over Wales' HTV network sometime in 1964, the series featured married couples as contestants. Prizes were awarded whenever the husband correctly answered a question concerning his wife, and vice versa. The contestants were isolated early in the proceedings, and if their answers matched up properly, all was well. No sooner had Sion A Sian shown up on regional television than an English-speaking version, Mr. and Mrs., popped up in a few "border" TV markets. While this version didn't last long, the original Sion A Sian was still running in Wales well into the early 21st century, making it one of the longest-lasting game shows in TV history.
