Synopsis by Mark Deming
A man who thinks his life has hit rock bottom finds out the hard way that isn't quite true in this offbeat comedy drama. Jason (Bryan Marshall) was a high-school teacher until he began sleeping with one of his students (Caitlin Rose), which cost him his job and sent his life into a tailspin. Broke and desperate to catch up on his alimony payments to his ex-wife (Kelly O'Neal), Jason takes a job working at a rubbish landfill, and one day runs across something he wasn't expecting to find -- a dead body. It isn't long before Jason is visited by a pair of strong-arm men representing a local crime boss (Patrick Green). Jason is strongly advised to keep his mouth shut about the body, and he's given a job delivering drugs so the boss and his lieutenant, Alfonse (Robin Spriggs), can keep a close eye on him. Sinkhole was the first feature film from writer and director Paul Schattel.
