Synopsis by Mark Deming

Misdirected desires turn an unusual family business into a web of betrayal and violence in this dark sexploitation opus from the mid-'60s. Ross is a middle-aged man who is the editor and principle writer for a sleazy men's magazine based out of a New England farmhouse. While Ross is married to Pam, an attractive woman with a drinking problem, he also has a mistress in Manhattan, but he hasn't been able to perform sexually with either of them and recently spent time in a mental hospital following a nervous breakdown. Ross' brother Otis is the magazine's chief photographer, who has an insatiable appetite for women, often bedding his models after their photo sessions. Ross and Otis have a third brother, Bill, who has just returned to the United States after spending two years in Europe with the Army. Bringing with him his new wife, Lisa, Bill signs on as the magazine's business manager against his better judgment, but soon he finds the stress too much for him, while Ross is driven to the brink of madness by his sexual inadequacy and his growing infatuation with Lisa -- a forbidden lust shared by Otis.
