Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Nan McDonald (Edith Storey) works at a Hudson Bay trading post and is known as "the angel of the lumberjacks." When John Lowery (Frank Mills arrives with his wife (Lilie Leslie) and (Joseph Kilgour). The wife carries on a flirtation with Beresford and neglects the child, who becomes ill. The tot is nursed by Nan, who spends the night at the Lowerys. She sees Mrs. Lowery carrying on with Beresford. Later, the woman slips down the stairs and dies. Lowery returns East, and brings Nan with him to care for the child. Lowery's aunt (Mathilde Brundage) suggests that he marry Nan to avoid rumors and insinuations, he does. But after the ceremony Lowery tells Nan he doesn't love her, that he still carries a torch for his dead wife. Nan, to her credit, doesn't reveal Mrs. Lowery's infidelity. But Beresford comes East, and he seems to have a special hankering for anyone married to Lowery, because now he goes for Nan. This rouses Lowery's jealousy. Eventually he discovers his dead wife's true character and that he really does love Nan after all.
