Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Directed for Poverty Row company Truart by comedian Billy Bletcher -- who used the more dignified William Bletcher for the occasion -- this silent Western-melodrama starred the husband-and-wife team of Art Acord and Louise Lorraine, both on leave of absence from Universal. Lovely Jessie Stevens (Lorraine) falls in love with Jim Sullivan (Acord), much to the dismay of Red Collins (L.J. O'Connor), who wants the girl for himself. Red blackmails Jessie's father, Job (Harry Tenbrook), into ordering his daughter to forget all about Jim, who takes to the bottle instead. (Shades of the real-life Acord.) While in the cups, Jim earns the loyalty of Rex, Red's dog, whom the brute has been mistreating. When Jessie fails to keep away from Jim, Rex cons the rival into the desert where he leaves him to die. But Rex comes to the rescue. Jim is then framed in a murder actually committed by Red. Once again, Rex comes to the rescue. A desperate Red kidnaps Jessie, and this time both Rex and Jim come to the rescue. With Red safely away in prison, Jessie, Jim, and Rex begin a new life together.
