Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Its title inspired by a catchphrase in the popular feature film Jerry Maguire, the British game show Show Me the Money was a joint effort by Princess Productions and Britain's Channel Four. On each half-hour episode, three contestants were "given" an imaginary 100,000 pounds to invest in five different companies. The object of the game was to embark upon a buy/sell/reinvestment race to either gain a fortune or dump a loser. If the value of any of the contestants' stock dipped below 90,000 pounds, that person was kicked off the show. The ever-fluctuating prices were determined according to actual London Stock Exchange activity. Show Me the Money debuted in 1999.
