Filmmaker Alexis Krasilovsky's adapts her own book Women Behind the Camera to the screen in this documentary offering an eye-opening look at female cinematographers from all across the globe. From the challenges faced by these talented female filmmakers to the victories that have paved the way to a new era free from the stifling constraints of sexism, Shooting Women finds over 50 celebrated directors of photography including Sandi Sissel (Salaam Bombay!) and Ellen Curas (Summer of Sam) weighing in with their opinions on the film industry and discussing the fine art of movie making.
