Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Before the Pahlavi dynasty in Iran there was another much worse monarchy. This drama chronicles the progressive degeneration of these despots down to the time of Prince Ehtejab. The prince is considering his life as he waits to die from tuberculosis. In better times, his father is shown suffocating subjects by sitting on them, branding a woman's genitals for seducing the young prince, and generally behaving in an unpleasantly despotic fashion.
