Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx
During the second week of the girls' L.A. vacation, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), who is tired of the sunny insincerity exhibited by the city's natives, reconnects with Lou (Sam Seder), an old friend from New York. Unfortunately, Miranda is disappointed to find that, far from badmouthing his adopted city, Lou has become a happy Left Coast convert who abandoned his neuroses back in New York. As for Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), she makes the acquaintance of Keith (Vince Vaughn), who uses his apparent status as a TV exec to get her and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) into an exclusive party. Unfortunately, Carrie's latest Lothario is not all that he says he is, as she later discovers when she meets his boss...at his house, where she ends up with Keith after the party. However, this deception is nothing compared to the bomb Charlotte (Kristin Davis) drops on her friends when she unexpectedly shows up in L.A.: her marriage to Trey (Kyle MacLachlan), she confesses, is a sexless hoax. Shaken by this admission, the girls decide to cope in the most quintessentially L.A. way possible, by heading to the Playboy mansion for a raucous party with Hugh Hefner.
