Miranda's (Cynthia Nixon) discovery that she's pregnant after having unprotected sex with Steve (David Eigenberg) leads her to wonder whether or not she should have an abortion. Her dilemma angers Charlotte (Kristin Davis), who has been having difficulty conceiving with Trey (Kyle MacLachlan), and forces Samantha (Kim Cattrall) and Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) to admit that they've both had abortions. While Carrie ponders whether or not to tell Aidan (John Corbett) about the abortion, which she had when she was 22, Samantha doesn't take enough time to ponder certain ethics and ends up getting fired by her latest client, Lucy Liu.
