Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The Seven Swans was one of several fairy-tale adaptations starring Marguerite Clark -- who, though way past thirty, still retained her fresh ingenue appeal. Clark is cast as a Princess whose seven handsome brothers run afoul of a wicked witch. The old harridan transforms the brothers into seven swans and exiles them to a dismal swamp. Desperately searching for her brothers, the little princess is aided and abetted by such supernatural entities as The Fairy of Good Deeds and the Sand Man. Finally she is told that her brothers will be returned to human form if she looks after them, day and night, for "a year and a day" -- a task which becomes difficult when she falls in love with the inevitable Prince Charming.
