Synopsis
Five of the seniors profiled in this 13-part cinéma-vérité chronicle of life at L.A.'s Fairfax High School are introduced in Part 1. Among them are Jean and Maria, whose love for each other is their "safe spot"; Jen, who doesn't fit in and wants to get out (to a college in Vermont); Kendra, a disabled student who takes a two-hour bus ride to school; and Derard, an honor student and the best player on Fairfax's very bad football team.
