Synopsis by Hal Erickson
College co-ed Brenta (Tina Thayer) is the daughter of district attorney Reynolds (Otto Kruger). In defiance of her dad's wishes, Brenta begins dating underworld figure Nick (Rick Vallin), the covert head of a gambling ring. Rather than see his daughter's reputation ruined by the slimy Nick, Reynolds arranges for the gangster's death. Alas, Brenta herself is accused of the murder, leading to a last-reel display of courtroom pyrotechnics from the conscience-stricken Reynolds. This low-grade ripoff of the 1931 MGM drama A Free Soul is elevated by the inventive direction of Joseph H. Lewis.
