Synopsis by Janiss Garza

In this detective picture, Janet (Olive Tell) marries Raoul Newell (William J. Kelly) but leaves him when she finds out he is a thief. However, when he comes to her and asks her to help retrieve some papers stolen from him by Mr. and Mrs. Giles (John Daly Murphy and Marie Wainwright), she agrees and goes to work for the couple as a maid. But in reality, Raoul is after the couple's jewels. Janet meets the Giles' nephew, Hugh Maxwell (Hugh Thompson) and the two fall in love. When Janet finds out the real nature of Raoul's plan, she threatens to expose him, but he in turn threatens to reveal to Maxwell that she is married to him. The butler is working for Raoul and on the evening of the heist he attempts to drug the Giles' coffee. But the Giles turn out to be too slick for the crooks -- they are actually detectives in disguise and have been onto the scheme the whole time. There is a shoot-out and Raoul is shot and killed by one of the detectives. This leaves Janet free to marry Maxwell. This film was based on a magazine story by Kate Jordan. which appeared in Ainslee's magazine.
