Synopsis by Hal Erickson

A U.S.-Canadian coproduction, the half-hour series Scout's Safari starred Anastasia Baranova as blonde, blue-eyed teenager Scout Shickler. Though born in South Africa, Scout had spent eight of her 13 years in New York City. When her mother Cheryl (Chantell Stander) married a man named Tyler Schickler (Jarred Urys), Scout and her family returned to South Africa, where the Schicklers opened a safari lodge near Johannesburg. At first encountering great difficulty adjusting to her new lifestyle, Scout quickly came to accept and embrace her surroundings with the help of several human and animal chums. Filmed on location near South Africa's Kruger National Park, Scout's Safari made its American premiere on October 5, 2002, as part of the three-hour Discovery Kids on NBC Saturday-morning programming block.
