Synopsis

Host Alan Alda explores the relationship between stress and illness, particularly heart disease, and whether relaxation techniques such as meditation can reduce anxiety. Alda visits the Mind/Body Medical Institute outside Boston; observes an MRI experiment on an "expert meditator" at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital; and, in an interview with Stanford biologist Robert Sapolsky, learns that baboons, too, can be stressed out. In fact, he finds that "the least stressed baboons are the ones who get along with others the best."
