Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Produced for Britain's Channel Four, Sci-Fi Files traces the history of popular science fiction as presented via literature, films, and television. A number of important sci-fi writers are interviewed in the course of the four-part series, offering their own observations, insights, and nostalgic memories of their first encounters with the genre. Among those appearing are Arthur C. Clarke, Larry Niven, Lawrence Krauss, and Kim Stanley Robinson. The narrator is Mark Hamill, who of course made his own indelible sci-fi/fantasy mark as a leading player in the Star Wars film series. Individual episode titles include "The Children of Frankenstein," "Spaceships and Aliens," "March of the Machines," and "Living in the Future." First telecast in England in 1997, Sci-Fi Files aired in America courtesy of The Learning Channel cable network.
