Synopsis by Lucy Haig
Set in the only primary-age boarding school in Ireland, this documentary profiles a married pair of teachers, Amanda and John Leyden, as they approach retirement age. After 40 years of caring for young children, the couple look at what retirement would mean not only for them, but for the pupils to whom they have dedicated their lives. The film also studies the unusual teaching methods the pair employ, and the clash between the traditions of the institution and the demands of a modern and progressive curriculum. Directed by Neasa Ní Chianáin and David Rane.
