Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Luxembourg, along with Belgium and the Netherlands, is considered to be one of the so-called Low Countries. Like them, this tiny nation is among the first to be invaded whenever there is trouble between any of their bigger neighbors. Being so small, it is a rare event when a feature film is made there. This movie, told from the point of view of the youngsters, follows the experiences of a Luxembourg family as the World War II German occupation of their country is beginning. Before the invasion, life seems to be good -- even idyllic. Soon afterwards, their neighbors begin disappearing mysteriously, and tension and worry are the usual expressions on everyone's faces.
