After shooting the regular third season episodes of Saved by the Bell, six additional episodes featuring the gang working at a Malibu resort for the summer were shot. These episodes were peppered throughout the third season, despite the continuity issues they posed. "Zack's Birthday" is the first of the Malibu Sands episodes and introduces viewers to Mr. Carosi (Ernie Sabella) and his attractive daughter, Stacey(Leah Remini), whom Zack immediately falls for.
