Synopsis by Steve Blackburn
This two-tape set documents the San Francisco Gay Pride Parade down Market Street on June 25, 2000. Officially named the San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Parade, the parade commemorates the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village, New York City, in June of 1969. For many, Stonewall marks the beginning of gay liberation in the United States. This video program offers complete coverage of the world-famous event, which draws up to half a million participants and spectators. Highlights include outrageous costumes, as well as footage of various activities along the Castro District route.
