Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
Sammy Davis, Jr. basically plays tribute to himself in this version of Anthony Newly's Broadway/screen musical Stop the World--I Want to Get Off. As in that earlier show, this production started out as a stage show and as the tale progresses, the camera seldom moves. The story centers around a humble coffee seller who impregnates his employer's daughter and ends up becoming a powerful, amoral business tycoon who cheats on his wife every chance he gets.
