Synopsis by Violet LeVoit
A UN scientific researcher (Veronica Ferres) on a fact-finding mission in Bolivia's Uyuni salt flats is kidnapped by an entrepreneur and radical environmentalist (Michael Shannon). While she tries to understand his plans, her colleague (Gael Garcia Bernal) searches for her. Written and directed by Werner Herzog, Salt and Fire is based on a short story by author Tom Bissell.
