Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Norma Talmadge plays Puck, a British music-hall dancer who is forced to ply her trade to pay for the drunken excesses of her brutish husband, circus strongman Vulcan (Anders Randolph). When the theater in which she is appearing catches fire, Puck courageously lowers the asbestos safety curtain all by herself, thereby saving hundreds of lives. In danger of being consumed in the flames herself, she is rescued by handsome Captain Manyon (Eugene O'Brien), presently on leave from his Indian regiment. When the newspapers report the death of Vulcan, Puck accepts Manyon's proposal of marriage and accompanies him to India. Unfortunately for the heroine, Vulcan has survived the conflagration, and soon he too arrives in India, with blood in his eye. The rest of the story is even more melodramatic than its set-up, if such a thing is possible.
