Synopsis by Forrest Spencer

Joan MirĂ³ was one of the most famous painters of the surrealist movement during the 20th century. His style was called "biomorphic abstraction" because his designs are curvicular, fluid, and more organic than geometric formations. Each year Rosamond Bernier gives sold-out lectures at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her topics are artists, philosophers, scientists, poets, musicians, and religious figures. Her lectures are either based on her research or on personal association. In this 55-minute video presentation, a natural-born storyteller tells of her relationship with MirĂ³, of his life and his art -- a story both captivating and educational. This video is part of a set of featured artist lectures on French Impressionism.
