Review by Hal Erickson

Romanze plays like a Magyar version of Oscar Wilde's Lady Windemere's Fan. The screenwriters manage to avoid accusations of plagiarism by plunking the story in the wilds of Africa rather than the elegant drawing rooms of London. Also, the heroine actually marries the "wrong man," rather than being deflected from such a course. And, for good measure, a subplot involving industrial espionage has been thrown into the goulash. Still, the basic plot hinges upon an indiscreetly abandoned fan, which may spell ruin for the heroine should it fall into the wrong hands.
