Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This is a French language, Bulgarian-made film. Three brothers find themselves questioning their lives when their father takes off for America, leaving them without a word or a forwarding address. The brothers gather in their father's apartment in Sofia and discuss their lives among themselves. Their father's unhappy girlfriend and his former neighbors also show up and join the conversation. Though the boys weren't very close to him, they are shaken by his mysterious absence. This film features a great deal of philosophical discussion, poetic cinematography, and an extremely idiosyncratic and interesting sound track.
