Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

This late Soviet-era documentary follows the lives of the lead singers from several Russian rock groups. During the week, each of them has a "day job." One is a manual laborer, another is a projectionist, etc. However, on the weekends, they are stars. Among the singers and groups featured: Viktor Zoi and his group Kino,Olg Garskuscha and the group Auktion,Juri Schewstschuk and DDT, and Anton Adassinski and AWIA, and Boris Grebentschikow and his group Aquarius. Aside from their lives onstage, these lads experience very little of the glamor, wealth and privilege commonly experinced by their peers elsewhere.
