Synopsis by Sarah Ing

The Boeing B-17 is the star attraction of the third installment of Roaring Glory Warbirds. Each episode features an in-depth look at different airplanes specific to World War II. Nicknamed the "four-engine fighters" by the Japanese, the B-17 Fortress first flew in 1941 under the watchful eye of the British Royal Air Force. By the second global conflict, the plane had evolved into part tank, part bomber. Its reputation for surviving a dogfight was legendary. Roaring Glory Warbirds is a unique program in that it takes viewers for a virtual ride aboard the historic planes. Pilot Jeff Ethell navigates the skies aboard a B-17, providing a rarely seen glimpse into the lives of fighters. Techno-buffs will appreciate the thorough tour and explanation of the Fortress' features.
