Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

During the 1950s, the Riviera Hotel stood as one of Havana, Cuba's most illustrious oases for North American gangsters and Hollywood celebrities ranging from Frank Sinatra, to Ginger Rogers, to Ava Gardner, who according to a former bellhop, one night took him to her room for a night of lovemaking. Through interviews with former staff and patrons, this insightful Dutch documentary recounts the hotel's colorful past during the Cuban city's glory years. Riviera Hotel played at the 1998 Vancouver Film Festival.
