Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This documentary explores the development and proliferation of nuclear missiles around the world. This mildly "revisionist" film gently criticizes Stalin's love of crowds and parades. The U.S.'s use of ex-Nazi Werner von Braun in its missile programs comes under criticism, as does John F. Kennedy's handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1959, and the Gary Powers episode. The space program also comes under the category of things which increase the world's risks, as does the Chernobyl incident.
