Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Lassiter (William Farnum) quits the Texas Rangers and spends his life in pursuit of a group of Mormons who kidnapped his married sister. In a town on the Utah border, he meets the Withersteens and falls in love with their daughter, Jane (Mary Merch). He also befriends Venters (William Scott), and helps him track down some bandits who have been rustling the Withersteens' cattle. Venters captures their leader, the Masked Rider, who turns out to be a woman (Katherine Adams), and he falls in love with her. Lassiter, meanwhile, finds out that his sister is dead. When a little orphan who Lassiter has come to love is also kidnapped by the Mormons, he finally tracks them down. He rescues the little girl and wreaks vengeance on the group's leaders. On his return, he meets up with Venters and the Masked Rider, who turns out to be his sister's daughter, Bess. In a rousing climax, the pursuers are vanquished for a happy ending. This silent picture was not one of the better adaptations of the Zane Grey novel.
