Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

Off-beat and nearly surreal in its presentation, this darkly comic drama from South Korea's youngest female director, 23-year-old Lee Suh-goon, tells the tale of Nana, a lovely young lady assassin who suffers a drug-induced amnesia at the hands of her last client, an American who hired her to kill him. He administers the drug to Nana just before he died. Forgetting her bloody past, Nana goes on vacation with Cho Han, a manga (a popular form of graphic novel similar to an elaborate comic book) illustrator. Cho Han is crazy about Nana and pays tribute to her by drawing a character based on her in one his latest works. Much of the film's charm and interest comes from the sharply contrasting, colorful settings and occasional use of camera effects that give it the look and feel of an anime feature. Reobu Reobu played at the 1998 Pusan Film Festival and at the Vancouver Film Festival.
