Synopsis by Sally Barber
Rembrandt's Beret (or The Painter's Crown) introduces youngsters to the world of art and to one of the greatest artists in history, 17th century Dutch master Rembrandt van Rijn. The story features Tiberius, a young boy who discovers a link between two famous museums in Florence, Italy -- the Pitti Palace and the Uffizi Gallery. In the Hall of the Old Masters, paintings come alive. Rembrandt himself speaks to Tiberius and makes a gift of his beret and artist brushes to inspire the boy. This art adventure is intended for students in grades one through five. A teaching guide is also available.
