Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Old Mynderse Van Duyn (Walt Whitman) is determined to see his granddaughter, Catherine Ten Eyck (Alma Reubens) marry her cousin, Pell Van Duyn (Darrel Foss). What Van Duyn doesn't know is that Pell is a dope fiend who is already secretly married to Nora Duffy (Pauline Stark), a servant girl. In any case, Catherine prefers an aspiring young writer, Paul LaFarge (Allan D. Sears), and they become engaged. Pell is killed by his valet, William Slade (Louis Durham), over some drugs, and Nora dies in childbirth. Van Duyn refuses to acknowledge the infant, but Catherine, who has married LaFarge, takes the baby in. After a passage of several years, Van Duyn finally accepts the child and has a reunion with Catherine and LaFarge.
