Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Best known for his portrayal of Stan Butler in the British sitcom On the Buses, Reg Varney also headlined a number of variety series and specials on virtually all of the principal United Kingdom TV networks. This one, eponymously titled Reg Varney, aired over the ATV service. The chipper little comedian was joined on the program by his frequent costar Pat Coombs, and by Henry McGee, who like Varney occasionally pulled duty as straight man for the inimitable Benny Hill. Fourteen 30-minute episodes of Reg Varney were broadcast from 1973 to 1974.
