Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur
Filip Renc directs the musical comedy Rebels, set during the Prague Spring of 1968. In the short time before the Soviet-led invasion, three young girls find romance with three young guys who turn out to be military deserters. Tereza (Zuzana Norisova) and Simon (Jan Revai) are the main couple struggling to enjoy the free sprit of the times in light of political conflict. Including lively song-and-dance numbers, the soundtrack features Czech renditions of '60s pop hits "Downtown," "Sugar Town," and "My Boy Lollipop," along with an English-language version of the song "San Francisco" by the Mamas & the Papas.
