Although he has been a devoted husband and father for 20 years, John Howard (Charles H. Mailes) finally falls for another woman -- famed dancer Cora Legrande (Gretchen Hartman). Because of the affair he winds up in a duel with her former manager, Voisin (G. Raymond Nye), and his reputation is ruined. Howard's son, Charles (Jose Ruben), is ashamed of his father's behavior and becomes a renowned artist under his mother's name. Cora, not realizing who he is, has him paint her portrait. He falls in love with her, but when his mother (Violet Reid) sees it, she tells him about Cora's affair with his father. He dashes over to Cora's and finds his father there. They have an argument, and in the struggle, Cora is the one who is shot dead.
