Synopsis by Janiss Garza

By early 1915, it looked like feature-length films were destined to become the norm, and this South Seas romance was the first the Mutual released under its Mutual Masterpictures brand. Although John Douglas (Harry Pollard) is a product of high society, he becomes tired of the life and boards a freighter headed for the Orient. But it wrecks and Douglas winds up on a South Seas island where he meets his ideal girl -- Nai, the daughter of a native chief (Margarita Fischer). Although Nai is already promised to sub-chief Kaura, Douglas manages to woo her away. He and Kaura have a battle and Douglas is imprisoned, but he escapes and takes Nai to a priest who willingly marries them. A lightning bolt, meanwhile, kills Kaura. Douglas and Nai live happily for a time, but the day comes when he sees a yacht anchored near the shore. He decides he wants to return to society, but then he has a dream that it has actually happened. Nai adjusts well to civilization and an old friend of Douglas's, the flirtatious DeVillers, tries to steal her away. When Douglas wakes up, He removes the flag he had raised to get the yacht's attention, and he, Nai and the priest return to the tribe.
