Lindsay (Thea Gill) goes out of town for a teacher's conference, and because Melanie (Michelle Clunie) is also away, she leaves Gus with Brian (Gale Harold). David's (Chris Potter) son, Hank (Ryan Cooley), is coming for a visit, and Michael (Hal Sparks) is nervous about meeting the boy. Brian's father, Jack (Lawrence Dane), pops in and tells Brian that he has cancer, and doesn't have long to live. Michael tries to make conversation with Hank, but the boy tells him he doesn't even want to be there -- his mother made him visit. Brian brings Gus over to Debbie's (Sharon Gless) and asks her to baby-sit so he can go to the Leather Ball. She has to work, so Brian makes other arrangements. When Debbie hears about Brian's dad, she tries to convince Brian to tell Jack that he's gay. Ted (Scott Lowell) recognizes an old friend from business school, Dale (Bobby Johnston), who happens to be decked out in leather, whipping a willing slave. Dale invites Ted to his place, but Ted freaks out when Dale invites him to relinquish control. Later Ted realizes how predictable he is, and reconsiders. When Melanie gets wind of Lindsay's babysitting arrangements, she comes home early, only to find Justin (Randy Harrison) about to give the baby hot milk. She lets Brian have it when he gets home. When David leaves on an emergency call, Hank tells Brian that he doesn't have a problem with his dad being gay -- he just can't relax with him, because David makes plans for every minute of every visit. The two ditch David's itinerary and spend a fun afternoon reading comics. Brian comes out to Jack, who reacts badly. But later, he goes to visit Brian again, and learns that he has a grandson.
