Directed by Saba Kailash, Punnagai Poovae centers around two roommates (Meera and Nithya) and Venket, the man who moves into an adjacent apartment. When a bored Venkat tracks the person who had been calling anonymously for some time, he comes to believe that it's none other than Nithya, and happily pursues a relationship with her. Complications ensue, however, when it turns out that the one calling and hanging up is Meera, who has been harboring a crush on Venkat for quite awhile. Nithya must choose whether to continue the romance with Venkat, or reveal the caller's true identity.
